Chair

Joan Skelton

Joan is a relatively new resident of Tillsonburg, moving here in the fall of 2023. She retired in 2000 from over a decade as Director of Community Support Services at a multi-service agency in Kawartha Lakes where she oversaw a myriad of services geared at supporting seniors to live at home as independently as possible. Joan’s career also included management of non profits in the dementia and cancer support sectors. As a volunteer, Joan and her husband deliver Meals on Wheels locally and Joan has worked on a number of Boards of Directors in the areas of child welfare, mental health and non-profit housing.

Melanie Cornwell

Melanie has been involved in not-for-profit organizations and finds it rewarding work knowing that volunteering is making a noticeable difference. For Melanie, getting seniors involved, active and social makes for a very fulfilling life in our ‘’Golden Years’’.

Treasurer

Lisa Belliveau

Lisa is thrilled to serve as the Treasurer for the Tillsonburg Senior Centre. After retiring from a rewarding banking career, Lisa wanted to give back to the community and found the perfect fit at the Senior Centre. As Treasurer she helps manage finances, works with the board on the budgeting, and as part of the board ensures every dollar is used to the benefit of our members. Lisa can often be found participating in the chair fit classes, and weekly board games. She also enjoys gardening and spending time with friends and family.

Secretary

Crystal Getty

Crystal was an elementary vocal music teacher for JK to grade 6 for close to 40 years in three different counties. She has been married to her husband, Mel, for over 55 years with 3 married adult children and 7 grandchildren. Crystal loves being at and participating in programs at the TSC and has made many new friendships and connections there.

Dorothy Hrischenko

Dorothy moved to Tillsonburg from Toronto in Jan. 2023, and misses neither the traffic nor the drivers.  She is a professional clown (Dottie Dancer) who enjoys karaoke, board games, trivia, baking, winemaking, camping, music, environmental concerns and is always up for trying something new!

Tom McLarty

Tom says joining the Tillsonburg Senior Centre is the best thing he could have done to connect with people and make new friends after his wife of 50 years passed away in 2023. Tom, a resident of Walsingham, is a retired electrician and technician who worked for Kodak for over three decades. A long time leadership volunteer with the Long Point Lions Club, Tom served as Secretary for many years, then as President. Tom also volunteered as a District Governor with Lions and is a Mason with the Port Dover Lodge.

Marion McLean

Marion joined the board to support the Senior Center in its mission to foster friendship, meaningful activities, socialization, and fun among seniors. She is committed to helping strengthen community involvement and creating opportunities for seniors to stay connected and engaged.

David Wells

David is a believer in life-long learning. As a new board member he hopes to be able to learn enough to help keep this vibrant centre running smoothly.
